Dance is my passion. It has been for about three years. I love it. That's obvious. This year I want to expand the classes I want to take. I am a competitive dancer, so it's already sort of expensive, but not bad. I want to take more classes, but my parents are not keen on it, but it's something I want more than anything. I know I can't always get what I want, but how can I convince them?
I've also been told I can go very far if I take more classes. This would honestly make my life. How do I convince my parents to let me take more expensive dance classes?
I'm pretty sure that your parent want you to take the classes but maybe they cant afford it right now. The cost of living is going up so maybe they dont have the extra money, if this is the case maybe ask for it as a present for a holiday or something. If you dont think it's about the money prove to them you deserve it or maybe help out around the house so they will do itHow do I convince my parents to let me take more expensive dance classes?
Try getting a part time job, and paying for it.. If not, ask the people if you could pay in payments, and tell your parents. I bet the monthly amount would sound much better, and cheaper than the actual whole amount. If that doesnt work, just tell them again that it is your passion, and that's what you want to do with your life! I'm sure they'll understand. Parents always want the BEST for their children. If they're not giving this to you, I'm sure they have a good reason..
It's expensive ';but not bad' because YOU'RE not the one paying for it. Get a part time job, to earn the extra money you need for a more expensive class, then I'm sure mom and dad will agree to allow you to take it, as long as they're still paying the same amount as before.. while you're covering the difference.
Tell your parents again that you would really like to take the classes. Have one of the instructors of the classes speak to your parents and tell them the advantages of you taking this class.
Hi brittany,
I can relate so much with you. When I wanted to be an artist/painter...and wanted to learn fine arts professionally, my parents did not believe in me, forced me to do MBA and stuff, but I am so unhappy.
You have to do what you like. Your career should be determined by your instincts and your talents. I used to paint well, like you dance well. Prove it to them, be adamant and dont end up like me.
Be confident. Tell them this is your future, and if you really want them to make you follow them you will be a failure....trust me, i feel a bit like a failure now although iam doing well in IT busines.
Anyway, my message is follow your passion, follow it and trust me if your destiny lies there, you are the dreamer !!!!!!!!!
You must communicate with your parents perhaps with some older relatives or freinds or...someone who teaches you dance or someone who will convince them. Do not fight. Because they are your parents and probably when you fight it might scare them off....
relax...when u become a big dancer, send me an invitation to watch u....
good luck
