How do I convince my parents to get a second dog?

I already have a golden retriever (he is 2 years old) and I want another dog. They don't want to get another dog because it is to much work to handle two dogs. Is there a breed that isn't a lot of work, and if so, how do i convince them to get it?

All answers are appreciated! Thanks! How do I convince my parents to get a second dog?
A Beagle would be a good choice, they are good family dogs, don't shed that much, and relatively get along well with other dogs, most of the time. To persuade your parents, first you must show them you are responsible, do your chores, homework, and take good care of your golden retriever first. Then write a well thought out essay to your parents, telling why you want this dog and what responsibilities you will have. Leave it for them to read, hold a family meeting, or read it at the dinner table one night. If they say yes, make sure to meet the dog before getting it, and maybe get your dogs to meet to ensure that they will be a good match. If your parents say no, then that probably means that they really don't want you to have another dog, give it time, and continue showing your parents how responsible you can be!

You really shouldn't have two dogs. It takes money and time. Even though a there's a dog who doesn't need a lot of work, there's still the walks, the poop, the food and many more. The best thing you can do right now is to bond with your golden retriever. He's only two. You guys can be best pals.

Why do you want another dog anyways?
Say that you will look after her/him yourself.

Say you will take him/her to a walk every day when it grows up.

Say you will feed him and water him everyday.

I would get a King Charles Spaniel.

They aren't lot of work,

You just need to train it.

They are lovely trust me!

I was brought up by dogs so you know.=]
All dogs can be hard work. You need to know how to train them. But since its their house its their rules and you need to respect that. You can get another dog when you move out. By getting another dog you are now doubling the vet bills, food, toys, and much more.
If your parents think it is too much work to have another dog then give it up. You don't need a second dog, sounds like they are the ones taking care of the first dog.
I think the best way to convince them is to offer to take care of the two dogs yourself. If you do that, they dont have to deal with the hassle!
I am sorry all dogs are hard work. Not to mention twice the expense, twice the training, twice the vet visits. Your parents are probably right
chihuahua's but cant b house broken till 1 year ther bladder is only the size of a pea and you can go wifh a lab iam house training one now
You could them that the first dog needs a play mate to keep him / her company when no one is home.

Dogs are pack animals and need company .
