How do you convince your parents to get you texting?

My mom suprised me with a family plan cell phone from Verizon last year. I never texted but my older brother did. So she decided to block texting. Now verizon has free texting to anyone in verizon plus 500 free texts. It costs $10 a month. Which I have told my mom I will pay for. She won't go for it.


She thinks I will be texting all the time.





Is there any possible way to convince her?How do you convince your parents to get you texting?
Tell her that you are responsibe and SHOW her that you are. This way she will be convinced, ask her again in a few weeks after you being responsible.How do you convince your parents to get you texting?
um if u have 500 text messages you can use then OF CORSE YOU WILL ALWAYS TEXT DUH ANYONE WOULD!
Give her the $10 in advance for one month, and see if she'll agree to try it for that time. There's no better way to solve a disagreement than to put it to the test!
show her that you can be responsible with your phone...idk how old you are but i'll guess you're high school aged. dont make calls during school, dont go over the plan limit, etc. and tell her you wont be texting during school or whatever. seeing as its summer that should be a problem. also, if you have rules about being on the phone (ie no phone calls past midnight) dont break those rules. hopefully once you show her you can be responsible with it, she'll give in! :)
Let her know that if youre ever someplace without reception its a lot easier to send and recieve messages rather than calls. So if your car broke down on a back road somewhere and you cant call there might be a pretty good chance you could still text her and get helped out. Let her know that Verizon is one of the best companies to have with there texting packages and there service and coverage. Good luck!
