We leave him alone when I go to school, as does my brother and my parents work. I don't want him to be lonely, but I have no idea how to even bring up the subject.
We're quite short on money because of everything we do...Any ideas? How can I persuade my parents to let me have another kitten?
If you're short on money, you can always go to a website where they offer pets for free (adoption). Go to a local vet and look at their bulletin boards and they usually have kittens/cats who are in need of adopting.
What you have written, is what you can share exactly with your parents. Tell them how you feel about your cat being lonely. Give them the positives of having another cat like your cat won't be lonely anymore, you promise you'll take of the cats, pick up the poop, clean up after them, etc. If you convince them that you can do all these things and offer them some suggestions as to where to get a kitten/cat, then there might be a possibility they will let you have another kitten. If you give them a lot of options and show that it is possible to get another kitten and with lots of reason, then I'm pretty sure you can get one.
Try begging. Show them you really, really want one and you'll do anything to get another one. Good luck! How can I persuade my parents to let me have another kitten?
thanks for the points and hope you got what you wanted! =)

Although I usually say 2 cats are better than one I wouldn't in this case. You said you were short on money and it takes money to properly care for your pets. What if your pet gets sick? Then you have the excuse to let it suffer because you don't have the money to take it to the vet.
Use what money you have to properly care for your pet and go out and buy some toys and scratching posts to keep your pet happy and content.
just say you found a kitten and bring it in the house, there sure to say awwwwwwwww keep it....good luck
Cats are loners alot of the time anyway. If you got another cat you would just have two cats which are alone all day and wanting human affection.
