What do you think of parents not telling kids about divorce until the divorce is final?

It's an interesting situation. The kids are teenagers and the parents are already separated. They split times with the kids, but instead of each of them getting there own place and the kids going back and forth the kids are staying in the family home full time and the parents are going back and forth between separate homes they have acquired.What do you think of parents not telling kids about divorce until the divorce is final?
There are a couple of families we know that do this.


The kids and one parent stay in the house and the other parent goes to an apartment.


They're trying to make the best of the situation -- keep it as stable as possible.


But not telling the kids the divorce is in progress until its final: NOT cool.

agreed, tell the children...you're only prolonging a already tough situation. Especially if they are teenagers, they will prob use to not telling as one more reason to be angry. It's clearly already over even if the dotted line hasn't been signed...tell them
