How can I convince my parents to let me get a lip piercing?

I'm 14 almost 15 and I've wanted a lip piercing for about 2 years now. I have thought about this a lot and done a lot of searching for other peoples thoughts on ho wto convince them.


I have talked to my mom and dad before.


My parents are divorced. My dad doesn't really care and he'll take me as long as my mom says yes. I've talked to my mom and she says I can't until I'm 18.





I don't really care what your thoughts are on lip piercings like they look bad or stuff like that. I'm only asking for way to convince them to let me get it done.

Tell your mom that you won't ask for a car or a license until you are 18, you will go out and get a job, make straight a's throughout High School and do lots of chores everyday.
jsut drop it, mothers are tough if they say no then they mean no, and i know you dont want my opinon on lip rings but my friend has one and he told me that its wicked hard for him to get a job because of it, so just letting you know before you do it
My cousin side stepped that whole ordeal by getting his tongue pierced without talking to his parents about it. They were really pissed at first but it passed pretty quickly and he still wears it 5 years later. He was older than you though, so I don't know.


You are quite young though. I think your best bet is to hold on until you turn 16 if possible. If you can wait that long, you will have a lot of a leverage in your argument against your mom. I.e. ';mom, i'm 16 now, old enough to get my license'; etc.


If that's too far off, try it on your 15th birthday. Play up the whole deal where you are older now and high school, time to get your driving permit blah blah blah. And say its the only thing you REALLY want for your birthday ;)
