How do you tell your parents that you have Bipolar Depression?

I want to tell them in an indirect way, i dont have the confidence to just straight-out tell them. Im 14 by the wayHow do you tell your parents that you have Bipolar Depression?
Its a really scary thing to tell them, I was diagnosed at 16 and was so scared my parents would be disappointed (I was so wrong, they were and are great) The way I did it was brought home some information from the hospital about bi polar and left it for them when I stayed at a friends place, when I got home we had to have a big talk, but they had time before I came home to read about it, and I had time to work out what to say, its kinda cheating though.How do you tell your parents that you have Bipolar Depression?
my father is bipolar and has been tested for it you will have to tell them to their face as it is a very serious matter!! depending on how serious it is you might have to go on medication
At your age, the doctor is the one who does the telling part.

My question is to you is how do you know you have that?

You are 14, and things suck at this age for everyone, we have all been there. Unless you have actually seen your family physician and been examined by a professional you might just be depressed. If you have a history of bipolar-ism, that your parents know of, then they will be well aware of the side effects that you would experience. I have two close friends who are bipolar who have told me of what they went threw.

Please do not just take the word of a friend, teacher, or school adviser, no matter how much you respect them. As those who have truly been threw this, do as they have, see a professional. Any of your self diagnosis or web research is no match for those who have studied years and devoted theme selves to help those who are severely ill. Such things as these is not what you should take lightly or place upon yourself, the life connected is dreadful.

Talk to a trusted and responsible relative that you can confide in. If it is simple depression then they can help you face your parents. Trust that God will help you through it all. I know Christ has been there for me and my friends. Sometimes the world might seem to fall upon us and those around us inadvertently add to the pressures, but sometimes the quite of prayer and meeting with others who know that can be trusted, can be the gateway in which God can guide you to the next season of your life.

I will be praying for you and pray that you will have a divine appointment soon to help you during your despair.
you need to tell them that you think something is wrong.. and that it goes a bit beyond just talking about the problem..

and when they sask.. cut it to them.. but in a way that you think would be easier to understand.. for example.. ';i get these mood swing things.. and they get kinda serious at times';..

this will make them question. and when they begin to question.. just out with it..

hope this helps..

good luck,

I am bipolar. Surely they know something is up with you. Have you been diagnosed by a doctor? If not then maybe you should tell them by saying something like '; I think I am having alot of issues in my head right now and would like to talk to a professional person';
sounds like a self diagnosis. I had to go through a 2 hour sitting with my psychiatrist to find out I'm bipolar. depression and bipolar disorder are 2 different things. I hate how people throw around the word bipolar w/ignorance
