How did you convince your parents to let you get a belly button piercing?

I'm 13 going on to 14 at the end of the month and my mom says I'm not allowed to get one.


She says ';When you're 18 and you're an adult you can make those choices and regret them later on..';


But I know I won't regret it and she always says that for every crazy thing I want to do.


How did you convince your parents for one? How how are you at the moment if you want one?How did you convince your parents to let you get a belly button piercing?

but unfortunately shes right. youre better off waiting with this. when people see someone they know is young with a belly button ring it can give them the wrong idea. like that theyre skanky or slutty when really they arent. if i were you i'd let the idea go til i turned 16 then start asking again





i just got mine done a few days ago and im 17. to get your mom to go along with it (when youre older) is to show her pics of belly rings. not dangly, gaudy or skanky- just nice simple cute ones. also, tell her that youre better off getting it done when youre still living with her that way she can make sure you take care of it lol

I was 16 when I got my belly button pierced and the only way that I was able to do that was because I made high honor roll. I bothered my dad about it for a while, and he agreed since I was doing so good with school.





I personally think that you are too young to want one. They hurt so bad once you get it done and can get infected easily. You should really wait until you're really sure that you want to go through all of that pain.





Whatever you do, don't end up getting it done secretly! One of my friends tried doing it herself and it got majorly infected. Not to mention, her mother was so upset with her as well. Also don't just want to get one because everybody else has one, because most likely not everybody does. You should want to have something to look forward to as you get older. Focus on your school work more than your appearance and then maybe they will allow you to have what you want.
Make a list of the reasons you want a belly button ring. If you have logical and sensible reasons there is a better chance of her considering it.





Do not whine about it.


Do not list the fact that other people have them as a reason.





...but some real advice, don't get it done. You can always get it done later. Plus if you get one people are going to call you a ho behind your back. Plus you have to be really skinny to look even halfway decent with a belly button ring.
As a parent, there isn't much you could do at 14 to talk me into letting you get it done.





I'd consider it at 16, but would make it a reward for you for either being a great student, or some other type of accomplishment.





In the meantime, you may be able to buy a clip on ring that you can wear when you want to - I know it's not the same thing, but I think you're just a bit too young.
I didn't convince my mom lol..i just went to a place where i new they would not check my ID..or they would check and just not care and got it done..and she never new until after i had already turned 18..she still hates my belly piercing and i am 21 lol they will never approve!
ur pretty young to get one. but if you want to, then do it without permission. and most likely you will regret it in the future.

seriously think about it, is it what you really want? it may seem cool and all but its not really worth it
