Tell them to read this:
So long as you don't go changing any security settings (you are advised not to) There is no way anyone can ever possibly track you down, unless you specifically allow them to view your information, which you can simply choose not to submit in the first place. You can completely hide your personal information, and so it would be even less dangerous than meeting someone in the real world.
Seriously...the danger is nil.
If your that worried about facebook, consider the fact that letting your child go out into the real world by themselves is much much much more dangerous.
I understand your worry, but seriously...there is no danger to using facebookHow can I persuade my parents to let me have a Facebook account?
Ask them if its ok to do it under a fake name - one of my friends does that - and it foils almost all identity theft :P
be careful though, its not actually safe like those other dudes say. its quite tricky to set it up correctly so that you have secure privacy settings, and even then its vulnerable to every application you add.
maybe they don't want you to see they're accounts or something? ha, that's really strange. just use myspace or twitter or something. i have a facebook %26amp; it's not the most amazing thing, i barely use it. sorry i can't be of any further assistance..... :)
Beg them to let you have one, claim that they can monitor my access from their accounts. I know a few friends whose parents do that with their accounts. Good luck.
Tell them its safe, and that they can monitor your activity on there. You might not like the idea of them going through your profile a lot, but take it from another kid that its better than not having one at all! :)
be that one person that doesnt have one, facebook is gay anyways.
Face book'ss for old people use myspace and just don't say anything.
just make it and dont let them know,
depends ... how old are you ?
tell them its not that hard and say i promise i will only add my mates from school
