How can I convince my parents to let me get my tongue pierced?

I've wanted ot get my tongue pierced for a while, but my mother told me that I wasn't responsible enough. So I got all my grades up from C's and D's to B's and A's. I got a job and I starting helping around the house. A couple months later I asked again, pointing out my new found responsibility, and she still says no. She thinks it's trashy looking and she's worried that it will get infected. Any ideas on how to get her to cave?How can I convince my parents to let me get my tongue pierced?

You don't need your tongue pierced.
you only got responsible because you wanted your tongue pierced. that is the most unattractive piercing in my opinion. the lst thing i would want is to kiss a guy and him have a piercing in his mouth. so idk what guys would think about girls.
Get pierced behind you moms back then let the guys degrade you because that's what they will do.

Did you know you can damage your nerves in your tongue by getting it pierced? Your taking a chance by doing so..And then there are the teeth that get chipped by all the tongue wagging..Also, a chance for infection..Besides, its not real attractive so why do it? Your parents are going to be against it, so if your going to do it wait till your out on your own..By then you will have changed your mind..
Don't get your tounge pierced, you'll regret it in the long run. Not only does it deteriorate your taste buds, but it also ruins the enamel on your teeth. I know at my highschool, a lot of guys think that girls with their tounges peirced are trashy and ';easy.';





But, if you really really want to do it and honestly believe it's worth the convincing, prove yourself.
How old are you and what's your reason for wanting it? I would wait until legal age. (Just from experience, you'll know what you really want when it's all up to you.)





A tongue ring comes with a social stereotype of trashy and oral sex. That may be why she's so against it. Of course it's not always true. But if you still want it, then do your research. Get the nice info and print it out. Safety precautions, pictures, stories. If you want show you're ready, at least show her you've done your homework and know what you're getting into.
First off get a your tongue pierced doesn't change your character and make you trashy! You can barely see it. I've had mine for five years and I have had absolutly no problems!! The idea that it is used for oral purposes is false it doesn't do anything pleasurable (unless you by a vibrating attachment lol). As far as having a professional career with your tongue pierced absolutly possible. Has no one heard of a stud? It's a clear plastic bar shaped stud that goes in and you can't see it. You just leave it in while your at work and relpace it with the metal bar when your out. Actually a friend that I've known for two years just recently noticed I had my tongue pierced. I have also never met a guy who thought it was trashy. It's how you present yourself that may make you look trashy. People think that people who get piercings have them all over their bodies and have a lot of tattoos. That's false. I have no tattoos and this is my only piercing besides my ears. I love it! I have a great career and have not had any complaints. As far as convincing your parents.. that's going to be hard. My parents didn't like it either. Now they know I'm responsible and that a piercing doesn't change who I am. Just tell them to let you try it. Your tongue is constantly healing itself so tell your parents if it doesn't work out you can take it out and your tongue will heal itself and it would be like you never got it. Save up your own money to pay for it so all they have to do is take you. Tell them you'll take full resposibility and you wont ask them for anything else. As far as it getting infected it's possible but find a good highly recommended place to do it at (that won't freak your parents out) and follow your after care instructions! Also a last reminder you will lose your balls or swallow them. Buy back up balls or a back up piercing.

to get your mother to say yes: get really well informed, %26amp; show that info (from wikipedia or some place like that) to your mother. that's what i did for my belly button piercing and my mom just told me to wait a month, think about it, and then i can do it.

Tongue piercings are repulsive, in my opinion. They can easily get infected. Don't do it!!

Do some research on the piercing getting statistics and facts of famous/important people who have had the piercing and point out how they managed a successful career and life. Also point out how well you have taken care of other piercings ( if you have them)





I think the tongue piercing is the sexiest piercing available and that anyone who thinks they are trashy is jelous of the sex appeal they have seen other women who have them show. Hopefully you are not a prostitue, that would be the only way it could even be considered trashy on you
my dad told me not to have mine done lol silly man i had mine done at 16 an he never knew about it i did get a lisp for a few days but it wasnt hard out so no 1 knew about it really.im not tryin to say go behind her back, just pointing out the up side lol
it is very trashy she is right- and plus its overplayed everyone has it.


Nevertheless when u get a real job in the future, they more-than-likely will make you remove it, so its not worth it
