My parents found out Ive started using tampons and theyre furious. Can I really have lost my virginity?

Im 21 and muslim so this is kinda a big deal.My parents found out Ive started using tampons and theyre furious. Can I really have lost my virginity?
I think its more of a ';gateway'; thing with them. %26amp; also alittle of old country mixed in. You put tampons there whats to say you wouldnt do something else or masterbating? Im betting thats what they see. On another note though tampons arent good. They're dangerous. They remove most of the good bacteria thats in there.

--more on it i just thought of... something else your parents might be thinking is if you broke your hymen with a tampon (there are many other ways it could get broken though like biking) then how will you future husband know 100% you are a virgin? Try to look at it from your parents point. My parents found out Ive started using tampons and theyre furious. Can I really have lost my virginity?
Have a doctor explain to them that the only way of losing your virginity is to actually have sex. If they are talking about losing your hymen the piece of skin between the vaginal canal and the cervix you could have lost that years ago when you were riding a bike of fell or in a hundred other ways. Have you mother go with you to the doctor to have her explain these issues. But even Muslims know that having sex is the only way to lose your virginity. A penis has to have entered the vagina to lose your virginity. Until and unless that happens you're still a virgin.
you can lose your hymen from tampons, but just as much as falling off a swing. But in the American sense you don't lose your virginity, because the definition of that is having had sex(the that purpose). Most older people are afraid of tampons because (against common belief) they are less sanitary then pads, and you also understand yourself better down there (I'm saying that in the most innocent way.) after using them. some cultures/families feel uncomfortable with women knowing the twists, turns and angles of their own bodies before marriage.
well i personally think the only way you can lose your virginty is actuallyhaving sex. i dont want to offend your religon or anyone who believes in it so plz dont take this the wrong way. your parents just mean well and are looking out for you. try to explain to them the advantages to using tampons and if they still disagree thats when you have to decide to rather listen to them or not. your 21 so your and adult so i guess when it all comes down to it its your choice!!
no you didn't lose your virginity

i guess it might seem like that to them because sometimes the tampon can tear you hymen so technically you're not a virgin, but it's fine

you're only not a virgin when you have sex because your hymen can tear even when you don't put anything up there, like riding a bike or horses

my hymen tore when i was like 10 and i still consider myself a virgin since i've never had sex

so just tell them that just because your hymen is torn, doesn't mean you're not a virgin anymore
First of all.. you are 21. Why the hell care what your parents say. Why care if your a Muslim??? You live in AMERICA, where EVERYONE is equal. So tell your parents to shut up and grow up a little bit.

Regarding your virginity, you can only loose it upon your first sexual intercourse.

I totally get your situation.

Look at my question: it's extremely related.

OMG NO you can not lose you virginity from using a tampon the only way I can think of to convince your parents is to have your mom go with you to the doctors and have them examine you and then have the doctor explain it is not possible GOOD LUCK
Wow, tampons to not break your viginity. I am a Christian and I am going to stay pure until marraige, and I use Tampons all the time.

Tampons mosty do not break your hymen, (the time when you loose your purity.) Once in a while they will, but you would still be pure. =)
noo

i have been using tampons since my very first period

but also you can't lose your virginity to a tampon, it doesnt work that way.

plus your 21 and still a virgin? i admire you for that =] i could never wait that long
Actually, wearing tampons has nothing to do with one's virginity. I was fifteen, still a virgin and wore tampons. So your parents are upset over nothing.
no its not a big deal

my father is muslim and i had my pd during vacation and he encouraged me to wear tampons when i was only 14.

the 'losing ur virginity thing' is just a myth
no. but you are a technical virgin. your hymen may have been broken, but you havnt had sex. so your technically a virgin, but a doctor might not be able to tell the difference.
you're a virgin until you have sex. wow, muslims must be really strict to be mad that their 21 year old daughter used tampons. i hope that everything works out. good luck. :)
First of all you don't lose your virginity from useing a tampon. Your 21, your an adult, therefore you can do what you want!
No, you didn't lose your virginity. You might have broken your hymen, but that doesn't count because it's not the same as sex.
no you havent.

being a virgin means you havent had sex.

not if you have stuck anything up in there or not.
