How do i get my parents to at least consider home schooling?

Honestly, I hate school! I hate sitting in classes hours a day. Now that I have found an online school that is FREE! They won't even speak about it! One of my parents stay at home, so they would supervise. They say that i have to stay in school because some scholarship require a certain amount of hours ';sitting in a classroom';, but online school offers scholarship also! Please help! How do i get my parents to at least consider home schooling?
I am a home-schooler and I am envolved with things all the time.

Girl scouts, youth group, science and art class (outside of home, with home-schoolers.) And soccer. I also go to Friday School.

There are more options for homeschoolers, like clubs and such. You should teel your mom or relative you REALLY don't like being home-schooled, or you have to search for clubs and everything that involve home-schoolers. I am not anti-social.

Anyone who says that you will miss out on the vital stuff in life, your wrong. You haven't even researched.

My mother was responcible and looked and searched for the best options for me to have a well rounded life.

I am in Highschool, and homeschoolers even have proms, everything a normal highschooler can have and even more, (sometimes) we also have more free time on our hand, and I have 13 friends, and interact with about 50-65 people a week, and more, with all the events we go to.

I have school at 6:30-11:00, and learn 9 subjects.

You shouldn't just go online, see a place where they teach online, and expect to go on it. It's not homeschooling, it's just sitting on the computer all day.

laughter_eve...

you are so wrong about home-schoolers not getting scholar ships.

We take testing. And if you don't pass well...obviously you aren't studying. If you do pass above level, you might get a scholarship. There are ways to gauge it. You just don't know. How do i get my parents to at least consider home schooling?
HOME SCHOOLING SUCKS. YOU JUST SIT AROUND YOUR HOUSE ALL DAY BEING TAUGHT. YOU DON'T GET TO SEE ANY FRIENDS ALL DAY. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE HOME SCHOOLED, IT'S FOR RETARDS.
really i think you going for home schooling will be a bit dangerous as of know you will miss very vital things .you just cant compare being in class with what you are about to do please get down to business and go to school to start all over again you may change school by this i mean that you get a transfer
stay in school later in life you will regret not having the social aspect of school. Its not all about the books your education that is its also about learning to deal with your peers which is a skill you will need to be successfully in life
While I don't think I'd personally choose the homeschool route, I might try making a pro's and con's list to share with my parents.

On the pro's list, write everything that would be good about doing the homeschooling, and on the con's write everything you think would be bad. Allow your parents to add to the list and think about it with you.
Your parents are right if you are a senior some scholarships and admissions are based on the ranking you have in your graduating class.

However, find some information on the success of home schooled children. Find real information on statistics, etc. If you do your homework (pun), you may be able to show them that your decision could be a good one.

Remember though, Social skills are important too though. You will also need some hobbies or church groups or something to prove that you are becoming 'well rounded'.

Home schooling is definately not a bad schooling program. I know many people who have done it and their kids are just as smart if not smarter than others.
Sorry but this is up to yo ur aprents, any sort of home schooling requires a big commitment from the parents, and some parents dont feel up to the responsibility.
online schools can't teach you, they can only tutor you. when you are stuck on a calculus problem, its easyer to go to a teacher than some website. Youll probably just watch porn the whole day anyway
The online school might offer a scholarship to the online school, but I am pretty sure that you parents are talking about scholarships offered by universities. For the most part, Universities are not impressed by home-schooling. They have no way to guage it. Furthermore, universities don't just want some geek who can sit in front of a computer, they are looking for people who can survive in college because of socialization brought about by sitting in class, and hanging in the lunch room and sports and group projects and all that comes with it. As to the parent that stays home and could supervise, generally such parents do not have much free time. Running a household is very time consuming and in a home-schooling environment, the parent is not just the superviser, the parent is the teacher. The online service essentially guides the process, but the parent must act as teacher. What I would suggest is to try to find a way to make school tolerable. It could be sports or dating or the chess club or skateboarding, but find a way to mix some fun stuff in to your day. I found elaborate practical jokes and pranks helped pass the time when I was in school, back before the earth cooled.
why don't you explain to them you would learn more they could spend more time with you. They could keep track of your work and what you are doing.
home schooling sucks big time i have been for 5 grades or so and hate it, there is no one to talk to, like friends and you get left out of a lot of things cause it happened right after school. I'm still fighting my parents to let me go to regular school, so don't even bother trying it, you'll get bored and eventually depressed. now before i get too mad I'm stopping cause I'll go on forever about this.
Show them these links and try to explain the benefits of home schooling and the wide of subjects covered by the net. good luck.
