How do I convince my parents to get me a puppy for Christmas?

I don't want like a Golden Retriever or some other big dog. I just want a medium sized one or something. How do I convince my parents to get me a puppy for Christmas?
Prove to them that you are responsible enough to look after the dog.How do I convince my parents to get me a puppy for Christmas?
A dog is for life not just for Christmas.
Promise your parents that you can do good stuff. Like doing chords and tidy their bed room etc..... There are so many good stuff you can do at home. Try it! Wish you good luck!
i know when i wanted my little cavalier pup i had to research into the breed so i knew what i was getting into make sure i knew what care food and all she would need. but most of all i didnt get a dog for christmas and most responsible breeders are very wary of selling dogs at christmas i got her in feb and ive never been happier.

prove to your parents you are responsible and are able to do everything your dog is going to need.
Its really not a good idea to get a puppy for a gift. A dog is a lifetime commitment. They can live up to 15 years. They are not just something that you play with for a short time, and then discard like an old nintendo game. They are very expensive also. A vet is just as costly as our own. Food is not cheap! Then there is the care, the walking, the cleaning up after them! Better to do some thorough planning. Take your time. Check into all of the medium breeds, making darn sure that you want this added extra work, and go from there.
I'm afraid you'll have to convince them many times over. We got a cat because our daughter wanted it, and she still acts like she's afraid of it more than a year later. Our kids still don't take the major responsibilities for the cat and fish that THEY wanted.

Your parents are probably afraid of the same thing.
i dont av an answer but they dont giv in. i tried lst year but didnt work. p.s. why not? golden retrievers are thae BEST and i av 1.
You should always keep the house clean, get straight a-plus's, have excellent behavior at school, don't lie or be irresponsible and respect them more than ever!!!! Good Luck! I'm 13 and can't have a dog until I go to college! I wish you the best!

Also volunteer at a local dog shelter and help take care of the dogs...you'll surely still their hearts
beg for it..

promise that you'll take care of it...

study hard so you can ask for it as a reward
Your parents will bring a dog into your family when they feel it's appropriate. Trust their judgment.
Put it as the only thing on your list. Try buying things for one, lead, collar, bed etc. They might feel sorry for you and buy one. Also, be nice to them! And research one you would like.

is really good, you put what you want in a dog, in and it tells you a good breeds are for you.

Hope you get one!
