How do I convince my parents to let me get a pet?

Our family already has a dog but I LOVE animals and want another pet. I was thinking about a rodent like a gerbil or a guinea pig but my mom won't let me get one! I already had a hamster a couple years ago and she didn't seem to mind but now she won't budge! How do I convince her to let me get a pet?How do I convince my parents to let me get a pet?

tell her you are really into rescuing animals. pull a guilt trip on her. tell her that if you where to rescue an animal u would be doing such a good thing for it plus tell her all of the bad things that could happen to that animal if you weren't the one to get it. this has worked several times for me. what has also worked for me is rescuing animals then finding them homes. this will show your mom that you are responsible and are capable of taking care of another pet. this has also worked well for me, but you need to rescue SEVERAL animals and find them new homes before asking to finally keep one. plus this will also help you to decide on what kind of animal fits well in your family.
