How do I convince my parents to get another dog?

I already have one dog who is 6 years old. My parents want to get another dog, but they say ';now is not the time';. It's nothing financial or anything. I really want to get another one now because I don't want them to get another dog when my current dog is too old so that a puppy would annoy her when she jusst wants to relax. Also, I think she could use a playmate since my parents are at work and I am at school and she's a very social animal.How do I convince my parents to get another dog?
Make up a list of the reasons why you think you should get a dog. Make up another list of the reasons you think your parents would want to wait, and then think of answers for those reasons. Maybe you should also come up with some scientific information, and do some researching on the internet. I know that I've done something similar when at first my dad said no, but then I did all of the things I mentioned above, and I talked to him more about it, and he changed his mind. But when you bring it up to your parents again, do it in a calm way, and don't be to whiney. If they still say no, bring it up in another 3 weeks or so. Be persistent, but not to persistent. And D, you obiously can convince them to do something according to Singer and Martha. I want to know how I could convince them to get a dog, not that it can't be done. People can be convinced, especially if you know how to do it properly.

such as


if it is a small dog you can say how easy it would be to walk it


or


It would give your older dog more excersize.


I had to go through this when i wanted another puppy. I myself have another 6 year old dog who only wanted to sleep all day.


The new puppy gave it much more excersize and lost weight.

You can't. It's their house and their rules. When you are old enough to pay the bills, then you can have what you want.





Whether you are a kind pet owner or not, your parents are ultimately the ones legally responsible for the pets in the household, including their vet bills. Do YOU have the $$$ to pay for a new dog?
