How can I persuade my parents to get me a pet?

I really want a pet, but my parents say I'm not responsible enough.


Can I be responsible before school starts? I know how to be responsible, but how can I do it for so long, and still be responsible for the rest of my 'pet's life'? Is there any other ways? I can't volunteer at animal shelters because I live too far away.

Excellent question Anna and I commend you for getting your first pet to learn responsibility. And trust me, learn responsibility you will!





It's also a very serious responsibility to be entrusted with the powerful knowledge of how to easily persuade anyone to do anything, so use this wisely.





There is a law in persuasion that has worked for millenia and will continue to work til kingdom come.





Quite simply, you just ask for something ';Bigger'; or ';More Difficult';





*First* and only after then...





do you ask your true request.








So for instance,





If you needed a quick $47 to get that something you really, really wanted in that price range and you knew it was truly worth many times more than that,





what you could do....





is to first explain to your parents very excitedly about something


that costs $2000 or more that you really want.





Tell them all about it.





Tell them thank you for all the things they've done for you before.





Tell about all the other kids you know who have that item


that costs $2000 and how happy they are and how you feel


like you're missing out.





And ask them for that thing that costs $2000.





Do that first.





Here's what's amazing.





Sometimes, they'll say Yes!





But that's not the purpose of you asking for the $2000 thing.





First you need to ask for it.





Now here's where the human psychology comes into factor.





If they say no to your first request of the $2000 thing.





Then you can just ask for the pet!





Most people and parents especially,





after they have said, ';No'; to your first request of the favor,





are FAR more likely to grant the second request





that is of a lesser amount.








See, you kind of shocked them with the $2000 request first





so now they're actually kind of relieved to only buy you





the less expensive pet.








Most people don't like to keep saying no and no over and over.





SO after you ask for the higher demand





you just follow up with your true request, the one you really want.





So that's a 1, 2 system you can use to get almost anything


you want from anyone.





You can use this for years so don't let anyone know about it

LOL, well what i do since im a lil kid .. i just bring the pet to the house..Make sure its really cute !! xD and just show it to ur parents.. very calm down.. if they start yelling and stuff just out a really disapointed face and tel them..i dont understand yu guys.. u want me to learn to be responsable but u guys dont give me a chance.. and just walk away really sad and dont say anything more.. lol
SUGGESTIONS- IF YOU LIVE TO FAR AWAY FROM AN ANIMAL SHELTER - TRY THIS IF YOU HAVE PEOPLE THAT LIVE AROUND YOU THAT HAVE DOGS OR CATS- VOLUNTEER OR TELL FOR $5 OR $ 10 DOLLARS A WEEK THAT YOU WILL WALK THEIR ANIMAL FOR THEM. START SAVING YOUR MONEY AND WHEN YOU KNOW OF A NIGHT WHEN BOTH OF YOUR PARENTS ARE GOING TO BE REALLY TIRED- TAKE THEM OUT FOR SUPPER OR MAYBE SUNDAY BRUNCH. THEY WILL EVENTUALLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN YOU AND YOUR ATTITUDE. NOT I AM NOT SHOUTING IT IS JUST EASIER FOR ME TO TYPE.
